Local residents at this region have had their industrial and dairy activities with wetland for a long time, and the images of wetland for them have been changes with histrical, economical, and cultural baclground. Currently, local residents hold such positive images to the Kushiro wetland due to the registration as designated wetland under Ramsar Convention on 1980 and nomination as national park on 1987.
