Origin of inland marsh is lake in general. From surrounding of the lake, substlate such as sand and soil began to accumulate, and vegetation would be encouraged to flourish there. Eventually, not only the sand or soil, but also those vegetation began to accumulate as peat if the weather would be suitable, and lakes became low, intermediate, and high moor. Kushiro wetland is classified as this type.
When spring water at alluvial cone happens to accumulate there, some vegetation which could fit into the given condition would begin to flurish, and eventually accumulated as peat. Repeated this process, wetland would be develped.
After the flood of rivers, some water might remain along the river lines. If the water would not disappered soon and peat began to accumulate, those would begin to form wetland. |
